A few collaborations caught our eye during New York Fashion Week. At Rad Hourani we couldn’t stop cooing over the exclusive “Rad” MYKITA eyewear sported by runway models. But our favourite collaboration came from CFDA’s 2010 menswear designer winner Richard Chai.

New York Fashion Week: Odd Molly

Wednesday evening Swedish label Odd Molly had a bit of musical help during their S/S 2011 showcase at Lincoln Center: models walked the runway to live accompaniment by The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl).

Lincoln Center was abuzz Monday evening for Alexandre Herchcovitch’s S/S 2011 women’s collection. Vibrant blocks of neon pastel colours were absolutely breathtaking. And we couldn’t help but smile at Herchcovitch’s own modest walk down the runway.

British gents Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, the designers of rag & bone (an old British term referring to a junk dealer), are known for their well-tailored men’s and women’s clothing recalling the craftsmanship of Savile Row. This September, the boys will be busy with their documentary launch with R.J. Cutler (director behind The September Issue), their block party on Mercer Street for Fashion’s Night Out, and with a few other secrets yet to be revealed. The Block caught up with David to discuss the brand and their upcoming ping-pong tournament.
